Our Live Your Life Forums give members the opportunity to get advice and insights from health professionals, helping people to better and more easily manage their diabetes.
Mr Turnbull said “Diabetes is a very widespread condition, something we have to address in many different ways, and technology has come to the rescue with the Continual Glucose Monitor (CGM) that children wear. These Continuous Glucose Monitors can connect to a teacher, parent or a carer’s smart phone so that when the child is away from home, school, mum or dad can see their glucose levels. They also help the child to become more aware of when they are likely to have an episode”
Mr Turnbull also spoke with some of our attendees individually, answering questions about everything from his election campaign to specific issues concerning those with diabetes.
We’d like to thank our other experts who spoke this morning, covering interests in our key pillars of Mood, Food, Move and Me:
Shari Coventry from Sydney Laughter will showed us why laughter is the best medicine
Kate Battocchio – Accredited Practicing Dietitian, shared the building blocks for success when it comes to eating to better manage your BGLs. and
Joannah Braham – Accredited Exercise Physiologist, showed how easy it is to use everyday household items to get more active.
It was great to see so many member bringing along their testing equipment for a FREE meter clean and assessment as well. Just another benefit of attending our forums.
We thank Mr Turnbull & Ann Sudmalis MP for taking time out of their busy election schedules to meet with our members and join us for what was another interesting and educational Live Your Life Forum.
