Live your life ball

Diabetes NSW inaugural Live your life Ball was an amazing success!  It took place on the 21st February 2015 at the Hilton Sydney.

Over 400 special guests joined us for a night of beautiful food, dancing and chances to win some amazing prizes, with all proceeds going towards raising money for vital programs for kids, teens and their parents and carers, particularly in rural and regional Australia.

As guests arrived, an array of live and silent auction items lined the room, including extra special holiday packages, beautiful jewellery and one of Diabetes NSW’s ambassadors’ Bill Hope’s illustrations ‘Florist’ were among the exciting prizes and auction items on offer.

Adam Scicluna our MC for the evening, wowed the crowd with his unique mix of comedy and operatic performance and Barnaby Howarth, former Sydney Swans player, Diabetes NSW ambassador and stroke survivor, was our guest speaker and inspirational on every level.  And finally, guests danced the night away to music from the talented and energetic Enormous Horns!

Behind the scenes over 20 volunteers supported the night, selling raffle tickets, receiving and receipting multiple donations, and giving a helping hand to the guests.

The night was a great success on the fundraising front with a flurry of bidding on both live and silent auctions and pledges being made directly to the Diabetes NSW Kids Fund.  With the help of the very generous people in the room, over $100,000 was raised to help kids live their lives without the complication(s) of diabetes.

“What a fantastic night! The Ball on Saturday was such a success – over 400 people living their lives to the full. A special thanks to all involved especially staff who worked so hard organising and working at the event, to our fabulous sponsors and to our wonderful volunteers whose contribution ensured the night was a success.” Sturt Eastwood, CEO Diabetes NSW

Thank you to all of our guests, supporters, sponsors and volunteers who helped to make this night possible.

A final and very special thank you to Deemah Stone, our Sapphire Sponsor for the evening.
