Transition Camp 2019
If you are starting either Year 7 or Year 8 next year, then we have the perfect camp for you!
Transition Camp gives you the opportunity to meet other kids with diabetes, have loads of fun, and give parents a little time out.
This camp will help you develop your self-management skills and to gain a greater understanding about food and exercise and the role they play in your diabetes, especially as you transition into the high school environment.
The recreation staff provide an action packed program with activities designed to support the development of new skills and encourage campers to make new friends. Activities include abseiling, archery, laser tag, rock climbing and many more. Campers are encouraged to try all of the different activites with complete support from the camp staff.
This camp is fully supervised by staff from Diabetes NSW & ACT and volunteer Health Professionals. The staff includes a Doctor, Diabetes Educators, Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists. The campers are fully supervised at all times and the Diabetes Educators do BG checks throughout the night to make sure everyone is safe.
