4 June 2021 Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation Wakehurst Pkwy , North Narrabeen
A fun weekend away for kids from Kindy to Year 2 living with type 1 diabetes attending with a parent!
Diabuddies Camp provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about diabetes, diet and exercise; and to meet other families with type 1.
The action packed program allows children to try different sporting activities, create works of art, play exciting educational games, and a couple of surprises to come. The activities allows the children to make friends and try new things in a supportive and safe environment. All activities are optional and medical care is always on hand.
Parents have the opportunity to attend a range of seminars presented by Diabetes NSW & ACT health professionals, as well as special guest health professionals throughout the weekend. Topics covered during the weekend include: food & hypo management; insulin adjustments & pump corrections; school and diabetes; resilience; latest research; and sports/staying active.
The action doesn’t stop in the evenings – we have an exciting themed disco night and movie nights where everyone can join in the fun! There will also be free time to relax and use the site facilities.
