Learn more about diabetes!

South Coast Junior Camp is a 3 day camp for kids in School Years 3-5 with type 1 diabetes, and is a great place for kids to learn about how to do their own injections, develop diabetes self-management skills, and understand more about exercise and eating outside of the home environment.

The camp includes an exciting outdoor activity program which is aimed at building confidence and friendships. The recreation staff are experts at safely encouraging children to try new things, push their comfort zones, enjoy exciting experiences and make new friends. Activities include the giant swing, abseiling, archery and high ropes.
Previous campers have said “No one at my school has diabetes so it was great to meet so many other kids like me” and parents have said “Sam came back from camp with new friends and learnt so much. I definitely would recommend camp to other families.”
This camp is fully supervised by staff from Diabetes NSW & ACT and volunteer health professionals. The staff team includes a doctor, diabetes educators, dietitians and exercise physiologists.
Camp is limited to 50 places. A selection protocol is used by the camp committee to allocate places. Places are not allocated based on the order we receive the application forms.

Financial assistance is available upon request. Email camp@diabetesnsw.com.au for more information.
