Dario Android Urgent Product Defect Correction
Wednesday, 25 September 2019
Dario Blood Glucose Tracker Android App Versions 4.3.0-4.3.2, are in urgent need of an update because of potentially faulty blood glucose level (BGL) readings. The company says there are about 20 users of these versions Australia-wide, who have been notified about the need to update.
Diabetes NSW &ACT has been informed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) that the manufacturer has identified a potential problem with the Android App versions of the Dario Blood Glucose Tracker (4.3.0-4.3.2).
The issue involves duplicate logging of BGL readings from the Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System for Android. It may cause BGLs that are transferred from the measurement screen to the logbook to be replaced by older BGL measurements, which can be displayed as a duplicate reading.
An incorrect insulin dose may be calculated if inaccurate BGL readings from the DATA ENTRY or LOGBOOK screens are used to determine the required amount of insulin.
